How Orchard Was Built: From Incubation to Award-Winning National Brand
Orchard started as an incubation project inside Supergalactic Brands in 2022. The brief was specific: build a hemp-derived THC beverage brand that could win nationally — not just in Colorado, not just in dispensaries, but at retail across every state where hemp-derived products are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill.
That brief was harder than it sounds. Most cannabis beverage brands were built for the Colorado dispensary channel — small runs, niche positioning, no path to national distribution. Orchard was built differently from the start.
The Incubation Model
SGB's incubation model gave Orchard access to things most new brands spend years trying to acquire: QCi Labs' manufacturing infrastructure, TTS's nano-emulsification platform, and SGB's brand-building playbook. Orchard didn't need to raise a Series A to build a lab or hire a food scientist. It had both from day one.
Incubating inside SGB meant Orchard launched with the science of a company that had been in cannabis extraction for a decade. Most brands never get that advantage.
